The vision of Bistro Papillon first started many moons ago.

It was around the turn of the millennium when we, two Frenchmen, became colleagues in the UK working at a restaurant in Bath called ‘Beaujolais’. Ludo in the kitchen and Xav front of house. It wasn’t long after, and a few wines later, we became best friends and the dream of opening a French restaurant in Sydney, Australia, began.

That dream became a reality in June 2010, and we are proud of every dish, every glass of wine served, and every customer who leaves satisfied every time they dine. We have a passion for simple, classic things  and we love seeing the happiness people feel from good food and good wine. That has been our vision all along and that’s what makes Bistro Papillon so special to many.
